Saint-Martin's Island

Exploring Saintmartin's Island

There is only one coral-bearing offshore island in Bangladesh, Saint-Martin's Island. Located about 10 km south of the south-easternmost tip of the mainland, this tiny island is located between 20°34' and 20°39' N latitude and 92°18' and 92°21 E longitude. Located at the southernmost tip of Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar-Teknaf peninsula, it is the southernmost part of the country. An adjoining island, Chera Dwip, is separated at high tide from the larger island. At the mouth of the Naf River, it is about 8 kilometers (5 miles) west of Myanmar's northwest coast. Uttarpara, Galachipa, Dakshinpara, and Chera Dweep are the four parts of the main island. It is approximately. Approximately 8 km long in the north and 100 m long in the middle near Galachipa. The island covers an area of about 8 square kilometers. Distance in kilometers. Generally, the cliffs are 2.5 meters high from MSL, with a maximum height of 6 meters. In Bangladesh, the unique island of Saint-martin's is the only place where coral colonies can be found. It is a natural treasure that attracts thousands of tourists every year. There is also ecological importance to the island as one of the few remaining nesting sites in the region for several species of globally threatened marine turtles. In addition, the island serves as a migratory bird flyway and wintering site for birds of the East Asian and Australasian regions. Marine sedimentary rocks from the Late Miocene to the Recent Period are exposed on the island. This island is mostly made up of sandstone, shale, conglomerate, limestone, and concrete. A visit to Saint Martin's island is a must because, first of all, the foamy sea of white Gangchils on the sea route from Teknaf to Saint Martin will provide a taste of the endless joys to come. Each of its seven different neighborhoods weaves together like a pearl necklace, despite its seven different neighborhoods. On the west coast of the island, you can enjoy the best sunset of your life with a cup of tea in the afternoon. For diving in Saint Martin, there is no alternative to West Beach. East Beach is a great place to spend the morning. As the sun rises over Myanmar's mountains, East Beach takes on a magical appearance. The southernmost part of Chheradwip is formed by corals. During the monsoon season, it separates from the main island and is thus known as Chheradip. Besides sunbathing and scuba diving, Saint Martin is also a great place for snorkeling and barbecuing. You will regret your decision if you don't stay there for at least one day.
