Cox’s Bazar town is far from Reju khal or Rezu khal and the bridge. There is a beach nearby called Enani. Traveling to the Enani beach, you will come across the bridge and canal on the way. It only meets the vast Bay of Bengal Ocean after a few meters from the bridge.
Cox’s Bazar’s southern region is characterized by a hilly stream called Reju Khal. As it rises from the hills of North Arakan, it traverses the district in a south-westerly direction and flows into the Bay of Bengal. Here, most of the rocks are composed of the Tipam sandstone formation. To connect Cox’s Bazar and Himchhari sea beaches with Inani, Nhila and Teknaf sea beaches, a road bridge has been built over the Reju Khal. A metalled road connects Court Bazar, Ukhia to Reju Khal.
In 1995, the bridge over the canal opened to the public. It made it easier to transport people from Cox’s Bazar to Enani beach. There are several varieties of small fish, crabs, snails, and mussels in the canal. Collecting or catching them is strictly prohibited.
In Cox’s Bazar district, the Reju Khal is a mountainous canal. In Rezu khal Kayaking is available. Kayaks are small, narrow watercrafts that are propelled by paddles. Travelers can see beautiful scenery of a turbulent canal and the Bay of Bengal while kayaking in Reju Khal.
